Thankfully, because of declining positive COVID tests in the area and the official direction of the CDC and MN Deptartment of Health, we are now "mask optional" for employees, members and visitors. We will keep the Plexiglas in place for the time being. Thanks for your patience dating back to March 2020.
7/5/2021
Due to limited call and increased lobby availability we have updated our phone hours to be available 7:30am-6pm.
6/3/2021
As you know and as you've likewise done, we've been closely tracking the advice of the advice of the CDC and MN Dept of Health. We've also watched other businesses, agencies, cities and states. We're encouraged that vaccination rates continue to increase and positive COVID tests decline. Therefore, effective Friday, June 4, 2021, MVFCU will be "Mask Optional". We will not require employees, members or visitors to wear a mask. Exception: When we meet with a member in a private office for an extended duration, we will encourage both the member and the employee to wear a mask even though we do have Plexiglas. We hope if you are not fully vaccinated, you will consider doing so, though that is your choice and we respect that as well. Thank you.
5/21/2021
In keeping with the 5/17/21 CDC announcement followed by MN Governor Walz's most recent executive order where fully vaccinated Minnesotan's can opt to be "maskless" both outdoors and in most indoor settings, MVFCU followed suit. Also, social distancing restrictions were lifted under those circumstances. MVFCU hopes everyone that is eligible does choose to be vaccinated against the novel Coronavirus though we naturally respect the freedom of choice. With that in mind, MVFCU lobbies are both "mask optional" for all effective Monday, June 14, 2021, Flag Day. Our goal of course has always been the safety and wellbeing of employees and members dating back to March 2020. Like we all know so well, it's been a long haul. Thanks for your many months of cooperation and support. Also, thanks to everyone that did get vaccinated as now in Minnesota over 60% folks age 16 and over have at least one shot which is very good for all of us. Looks like here and across much of the country we really "flattened that curve" and finally turned the corner toward more "back to normal". Good job!

We will be opening our lobby at 100 Memorial View Court on May 17th, 2021.
Lenders will be available by appointment. We ecourage you to continue the use of our drive-thru service and online/mobile banking whenever possible. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we open our lobbies. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 507-387-3055.

Hello Members:
It's wonderful the COVID Curve is flattening here in Minnesota. We have two, and soon three or four effective vaccines and more and more folks are getting inoculated. We are all very thankful there are fewer positive tests, fewer hospitalizations and fewer worst case scenarios.
Starting April 1, 2021, our 1640 Adams Street lobby will be open. Lenders will be available by appointment. The goal is still to do as much remotely and online as possible for the near future. Thanks for understanding.
Our staff will be wearing masks and it will be required that you do as well. We will keep our 100 Memorial View Court lobby and offices closed until later. Drive-thru's at both locations are open and we answer the phones live from 7am-7pm M-F and 8am-12pm on Saturday. Thank you all very much for your patience and cooperation dating back to March 2020. The goal has always been to keep you safe and employees safe as you know. Naturally, if COVID conditions reverse and become worse, we may need to reconsider opening as you would expect. It will be wonderful when all Minnesotans are vaccinated and COVID has no where to go, right. Thanks.

Happy post-Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas 2020!
With the State of Minnesota’s renewed restrictions due to a surge in COVID infections, running until at least 12/18/20, holidays likely will be celebrated differently than in past years. We all agree it’s mighty encouraging that three different companies seem to have very viable vaccines and soon the folks that need the protection first will be in line. However, for most of us it’ll be several months away.
All is very well here at your credit union. We’re mighty busy, too. MVFCU has set new records for growth in all of the key areas and operational efficiency. Though we know you, member owners, have been inconvenienced.
It is true our lobbies are not yet open for member and employee protection, though we know it’s just a matter of time. We miss seeing members face-to-face all day long. We have seen many by appointment and will continue to do so. As you know, our phones are on 7am to 7pm weekdays and 8am to 12pm on Saturday. The drive-thrus are busy. They are busiest first thing in the morning, noon and later in the day as members are getting off from work. So timing between can shorten your wait considerably especially Monday, Friday and Saturday (drive up open until noon both locations Saturday). Online banking and ART (audio response teller at 507-387-3088 or 877-886-9100) are available 365/24/7. Call or e-mail to us anytime and we’ll do our very best to get back to you in a hurry. We are adding member chat and some additional communication and automation options as well.
Let’s all hang in there. Keep wearing our masks, socially distancing and avoid group gatherings are the big three constant reminders we hear all of the time but sure does make sense from all we read and hear, doesn’t it.
Thanks for your patience, cooperation and tolerance, too.
Best wishes for a great remainder of 2020 and for the whole year 2021.

It's been an unforgettable 3 months since Covid-19 caused us to close our lobbies. We've been paying close attention to recommendations from healthcare officials, government leaders and the actions of other businesses. Our number one priority is the safety of our staff, and you the member-owner.
We have installed protective plastic panels on our teller line, when we open our staff will likely be wearing masks, and we ask you to wear them as well. We hope to someday, be able to provide you with the conveniences like candy, cookies, coffee you've come to expect from us. Until then we ask you to be patient and understanding with our staff as we phase in more services, regardless of your views of the pandemic.

Hello Minnesota Valley Federal Credit Union Members:
Hope all is as well with you folks as can be expected. There is a lot going on as we all know. Because of precautions and preventions related to Covid 19 MVFCU like other financials closed our lobbies on March 20, 2020. We immediately expanded our phone hours to 7am to 7pm M-F and 8am to 5pm on Saturday.
We do have a few employees working remotely but for most of us we’ve been coming in to work every day though practicing social distancing and such. Good we have multiple buildings. Here it is early June and like other financials our lobbies are still closed. We’re relying on our two drive ups, online banking, phones, e-mail and technology though we have met with members in the parking lot when required.
So, when will the lobbies be opened and we’ll be back to normal?
We have been carefully following the medical experts and other leaders. We adhere to those guidelines. We’re watching what other financial and business do and don’t. Health and safety are the two most important elements. Though you as a member have been very inconvenienced along the way. And we never forget as a cooperative this is your credit union. You own it.
We will reopen as soon as reasonably possible, in phases.
We’ll have hand sanitizer and wipes and we’ll constantly disinfect. We do have Plexiglass up at the teller lines. We’d like you to wear a mask. At first just the lobby and teller lines will open. Not offices. The employee will come to you behind Plexiglass in the lobby area. If we need to use an office we’ll have a designated meeting space for this. Eventually we’ll be back to normal, but again, in phases. Thanks for you wonderful and admirable patience through this all. We are very appreciative of all of our members.
Over the last few months and at 4/30/20 we’ve reached all-time highs in Members (15,724), Assets ($201M), Member deposits ($182M), Investments ($88M), and Member owned capital ($19.2M). With outstanding loans of ($108M) and a sold but servicing first mortgage loan portfolio of ($124M). In addition last year 2019 we originated 256 first mortgages and through 5/31/20 we’ve originated a record 243 (in 5 months) so far. We’ve been busy. What does this mean for you? MVFCU is a very safe and sound Credit Union. We’re always thinking about you, the member, and how we can help which in turns helps our wonderful community of four counties.
Thank you & Best Regards
